Evangeline Lilly Confirms Summer Start Date For ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania’

Evangeline Lilly, who portrays The Wasp, has confirmed through her Instagram that production on the third Ant-Man film will be starting production this summer.

This confirms Murphy’s Multiverse’s scoop, which was reported last year.

The film was originally supposed to start production in early 2021 but fell prey to the COVID-19 outbreak, which stopped every working production. As some projects starting up again, the normal flow process for studios should head back to normal in the coming months; with necessary precautions of course.

Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp director Peyton Reed is returning to helm the film, with no current production start date set. Marvel Studios has yet to officially announce the project and likely won’t until Loveness completes the script.

Details on the project are being kept under wraps, but franchise stars Paul Rudd (Scott Lang aka Ant-Man), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne aka Wasp), Michael Dough (Dr. Hank Pym), and Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet Van Dyne) are all expected to return to the heist-adventure film series. There have been previous rumors that the film could set up a Young Avenger film or series.

Details on the project are being kept under wraps, Jeff Loveness (Rick and Morty) wrote the script. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is expected to hit theaters in 2022.

Marvel’s “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania” Begins Filming In Turkey

During Disney’s Investor Day event in December, officially confirmed that Ant-Man and the Wasp would be returning for a third film called “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania”.

This new theatrical film will be directed by Ant-Man director Peyton Reed and will see Paul Rudd return as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Evangeline Lilly returning as Hope Van Dyne/Wasp.  With Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer both returning in their roles as Dr Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne. Kathryn Newton will also be joining the cast as Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang with Jonathan Majors portraying the main villain, Kang the Conqueror.

It was revealed on the Turkish TV channel Habertürk TV by the Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, that filming has now begun on the film in Cappadocia.

Cappadocia can be found in central Turkey and is known for its distinctive “fairy chimneys,” tall, cone-shaped rock formations clustered in Monks Valley, Göreme and elsewhere. Other notables sites in the region include Bronze Age homes carved into valley walls by troglodytes (cave dwellers) and later used as refuges by early Christians.

Marvel is currently filming multiple films and Disney+ series around the world including “Thor: Love and Thunder”, “Moon Knight”, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” and “Spider-Man 3”.  It’s not known if the cast is also in Turkey to film their scenes or if they are shooting at locations.

Both “Ant-Man” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp” are available to stream on Disney+ now.    “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” is due to be released in theatres in 2022.

“Crisis” Poster + Official Trailer

The first poster and trailer for the thriller “Crisis” are out!

Set against the backdrop of the opioid epidemic, “Crisis” features three interwoven stories that highlight the greed, violence and tragedy of the drug war. An agent named Jake Kelly (Armie Hammer) is tracking down a drug trafficker that arranged a multi-cartel Fentanyl smuggling operation between Canada and the U.S. His mission appears to intertwine with Claire Reimann’s (Evangeline Lilly), who is an architect recovering from an oxycodone addiction searching for the truth behind her son’s involvement with narcotics and subsequent disappearance. Meanwhile, Dr. Tyrone Brower (Gary Oldman) is a university professor who battles unexpected revelations about his employer, a pharmaceutical giant bringing a new “non-addictive” painkiller to market.

Additional cast members include Greg Kinnear, Michelle Rodriguez, Luke Evans, Lily-Rose Depp, Kid Cudi, Duke Nicholson, Veronica Ferres and Martin Donovan. “Crisis” is writer and director Nicholas Jarecki’s follow-up to his acclaimed thriller “Arbitrage,” starring Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon.

Principal photography for the film began in February 2019 in Montreal and Detroit. Universal Pictures, Warner Brothers and Quiver Distribution acquired the distribution rights in December 2020. The film will be released in theaters across the United States on Feb. 26, followed by a digital release on March 5.
